Elizabeth Raum

is one of Canadas most prominent and successful composers who writes for a diverse genres in a remarkably stylistic variety and is known and demanded as a “performer’s composer”.

Elizabeth Raum received commissions from one of the most established [kann man noch etablierter als etabliert sein??] astists like the Canadian soprano Tracy Dahl, the Swedish trombonist Christian Lindberg, the American tuba specialist Roger Bobo, the Canadian tubist John Griffiths, the solo hornist of the New York Philharmonics Phil Meyers, the solo hornist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Jamie Sommerville, and her daughter, the concert violinist Erika Raum.

Her remarkable variety can be seen in her oeuvre of three operas, more than 40 chamber music works, 15 vocal works, choir pieces including one oratorio, several ballets, concerts, big orchestra works, and music for the film and video. Her compositions were performed in North America and Europe, broadcasted via CBC and honored by several important awards.
