The Meininger-Trio was founded in the year 2000 and it includes flutist and founder of the group Christiane Meininger, cellist Miloš Mlejnik, and pianist Rainer Gepp.
The trio quickly gained a first-rate reputation for their luscious tonal blend, their profound understanding of the art of chamber music playing and their unusually imaginative concert programs. Titels like Colours of the Sea, Voces de mi Tierra (Voices of my Land) or Slow Structures - Snow Melting Times exemplify original, sensual and exciting chamber music of our day.
The Meininger-Trio works in a very creative way with contemporary composers. Some of the word's most renowned composers, composers from Europe, Australia and the US have dedicated their works to the trio and their premieres have been enthusiastically received by audiences and reviewers alike.
The trio also performs more traditional programs with compositions by Joseph Haydn, Carl Maria von Weber, Johann Nepomuk Hummel or Louise Farrenc.
Fascinating new musical projects, which have been broadcasted and worldwide released on CD have become one of the Meininger-Trio's trade mark.
